NKP 1000 series/N&W class C11 series wood caboose HO scale kit NKP-1

built from 1881 through 1924 by various builders for the Nickel Plate Road this wood caboose was one of two wood caboose classes that were the backbone of the NKP until the arrival of the steel bay window cabooses started to arrive. They continued on with the NKP until the merger with N&W and became there C11 class caboose. Some of these cabooses stayed in service for nearly 70 years with 5 still being in serce for the N&W in as of 1/1/1971 with the very last one being retired April 1978 and being put on displayat Meadows horse racing track,Washington PA and later relocated to Meadowcraft Village, Avella PA.
